Anna Li: Humans is an observational photography project about people in their own worlds.
The images are taken during walks, at beaches, in the city, at gatherings, and in ordinary public moments — people reading, singing, watching the sunset, performing, resting, moving, waiting, being absorbed in something of their own.
This project is not about perfect documentation. It is about feeling people from a distance.
The grain, softness, warmth, and haze are part of that intention — not to show only what was there, but to hold the atmosphere of how it felt to witness it.
I am drawn to people when they are not performing for the camera. When they are engaged in life. When something quiet, human, and unguarded appears for a moment.
Humans project is my appreciation of that presence.
***
I photograph people doing what they love — working, creating, performing, practicing, building, caring, becoming.
Available for observational portrait projects, artist-at-work sessions, personal documentary sessions, and collaborations around people, craft, place, and everyday life.
A note
Most images in this project are taken candidly in public spaces.
They are shared as part of an artistic observation of everyday human life, with care and respect for the people photographed.,
If you recognize yourself in an image and would prefer not to be included, please reach out and I will remove it.
